PROBLEM STATEMENT
Developmental discussions with teams lack depth from the Manager leaving direct reports clueless on what exactly and how they need to improve.
SOLUTIONING APPROACH
- A ‘Competency Development Guide’ was prepared to provide hands-on inputs to Managers for developmental discussions
- The Guide was divided into Basic & Advanced and developmental inputs included Reflection, Observations, On-the-job learning, and Reference books, articles, videos
OUTCOME
- Extremely well-received Guide for the use of Managers and Directs for developmental inputs on relevant competencies
- Directs were able to browse through the resources with ease at the basic and advanced levels, calibrate their proficiency level and choose the resources that match their learning style
- Managers were able to recommend and discuss developmental resources most suited to the direct reports based on their proficiency & preference
